Falling by Shelley Silas

Falling Poster

Linda lives with her horticulturist partner, Pete. They have suffered five miscarriages. While Linda wants to give up trying for a child, Pete still has parental yearnings. Their dilemma is underlined when Grace, Linda's teenage niece, announces she is pregnant. When Grace offers to give her aunt the unwanted baby, she widens the rift between the childless couple much to the despair of her bewildered and excluded mother Kate. The strength of the play lies in its compassion and emotional tact. Falling is an intense comedy drama about mid-life crisis, teenage angst, growing up and growing old.

'...written with the passion, deep understanding and emotional intelligence of a writer who is not afraid of anything.' - Sunday Times
